Police appeal for information after Derbyshire Dales burglaries

Police appeal for information after a burglary and attempt burglary in the Derbyshire Dales.

On Thursday, May 29 between 9.45pm and 10pm a house on Rutland Street was broken into. A front, ground floor window was forced and a laptop, iPad, MP3 player and a blue canvas Ben Sherman bag was stolen.

Officers investigating the burglary would like to trace a man who was seen in the area at the time. He was described as between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 10ins tall, of a slim build, in his 20s with dark coloured stubble beard and short dark cropped hair. He was wearing dark coloured clothes and a messenger bag.

At 10.30am the same day a man was seen to be forcing a window of a house on Cromford Road in Wirksworth. He was disturbed and ran off. He was described as white, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall with short light coloured hair. He was wearing a grey jumper and jeans.
