Sneak-in burglars take cash from home of elderly man

Two burglars stole cash from an elderly man after walking into his home while he was in.

The offenders went into a house in Coldwell End, Youlgrave, near Bakewell, at about 3.30pm on Tuesday, May 6.

The 87-year-old victim spotted a man in his house and was then asked to hand over cash.

A second intruder then appeared and the pair demanded that the man hand over money, before searching the house and leaving with a quantity of cash.

One of the men was white, 5ft 10ins, aged between 18 and 30 and of medium build. He wore light grey jogging bottoms and a grey top, and had a scarf covering part of his face.

The second was white, 5ft 8ins, aged about 18 and of medium build. He wore dark clothing, gloves and also had a scarf covering his face.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the two men or might have information about the offence.
