Police are appealing for information about a road collision on Traffic Street in Derby which left a woman with serious leg injuries.

The collision, directly outside Marks and Spencer’s store in the Intu shopping centre, happened at 1.20pm on Thursday May 8 when a green Ford Fiesta spun out of control and hit a pedestrian who was waiting to cross the road. The car also collided with a traffic light.

The pedestrian, a 49-year-old woman from Stenson Fields, suffered serious knee injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the Royal Derby Hospital.

PC Tim Phillips, who is investigating the collision, said: “There is a possibility that the car may have hit other people who have not reported it to the police.  I’d like to speak to them or anyone else who was on Traffic Street at the time or who saw the car before the collision.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Phillips on 101 quoting incident number 330 of May 8.
