Five charged with serious assault in Ilkeston

Five people arrested and charged in connection with serious assault in Ilkeston.

On Sunday, May 18 two men and a woman were walking along Bath Street in the town centre when a group of three men and two women started shouting racist abuse directed towards them.  

The group then proceeded to assault the men and woman. As a result of the attack they all required hospital treatment.

Five people were arrested and charged with violent disorder. Thomas Swain (25), Rory Bardill (27) and Donna Haron (24) appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court today (Monday, May 19) and have been remanded in prison custody. Zoe Whinfield (22) and Ricki Davies (42) have been released on bail.
