Police appeal for witnesses after a girl had necklace stolen in Derby

Police seek information after girl was robbed in Derby.

A 14-year-old girl was walking along Grange Street at 1.45pm on Saturday, May 17. As she approached the junction with Malcolm Street she noticed two men standing on the corner.

One of the men walked over to her and grabbed her necklace from around her neck. The girl resisted and the man grabbed her hair and pulled her to the ground. The man then made off with the necklace.

The man was described as white, 5ft tall and was wearing a two tone jacket, grey at the top and blue at the bottom. He also wore small black rimmed glasses.

Police would like to speak to a man who was standing nearby with four small children who may have witnessed the incident.
