Police investigating the theft of cigarettes from a shop in Derby have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to.

A customer walked into the Morrisons Local store in Ashbourne Road, Derby, and asked a cashier for a large quantity of cigarettes from behind the counter.

After these were bagged up, he asked for some alcohol, but left without paying for the cigarettes when the cashier turned to get it.

The theft happened at about 10.35am on Saturday, November 22.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the offence.

He was seen on camera arriving and leaving on a bike with a bright yellow frame.

Anyone who recognises the man or has information on the offence should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 49452/14.
