Man who absconded from HMP Sudbury is arrested in Birmingham

A prisoner who absconded from HMP Sudbury has been arrested in Birmingham.

Andrew John Humpherston left the open prison on the morning of Tuesday, November 4.

The 37-year-old was arrested by West Midlands Police in the early hours of today (Wednesday, November 5) and remains in police custody.

Humpherston had been at Sudbury serving part of a life sentence for manslaughter, which he received at Birmingham Crown Court in June 1998.
