Man charged with possessing cannabis after city centre drugs warrant

A 40-year-old man has been charged with drugs offences after a warrant was executed at a flat in Derby.

Officers carried out the warrant at an address in St Clare’s Close, Derby, at about 9am on Wednesday, November 5.

A large quantity of what was believed to be cannabis was seized from the flat along with associated equipment, items, and cash.

A man was arrested at a nearby location on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.

Ishfaq Ahmed, 40, of St Clare’s Close, Derby, has since been charged with both offences.

He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 6 and was bailed to appear at Derby Crown Court on November 20.
