Police appeal for witnesses after an attempt robbery in Derby.

A man tried to steal a woman’s handbag in a city street when she was on her way home from a night out.

On Thursday, November 6 at 11.30pm a woman walked along Brook Street and then onto Bridge Street. She saw a man walking towards her as she walked past the junction of Mill Street.

As the man passed her he tried to grab her handbag. The woman held on and he dragged her onto the road.

The man let go and ran off up Bridge Street, towards Friar Gate. He was described as white, in his 20s and approximately 5ft 10ins tall. He was wearing a grey hooded top and dark trousers.
