Chesterfield fan receives football banning order for fight at Spireites Wembley match

Posted on 19th November 2014

A football fan from Chesterfield has been given a football banning order for his involvement in a fight after the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final at Wembley.

Ryan Saint was arrested after the clash between Chesterfield FC and Peterborough United supporters at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, March 30.

The 24-year-old was charged with affray, which he admitted at Harrow Crown Court.

Saint, of Shaw Street, Chesterfield, was given an 18-month community order, told to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and handed the three-year banning order.

The ban means he will not be able to attend any Chesterfield FC match held in the UK for the duration of the order. There is also a requirement for convicted persons to surrender their passports whenever England play abroad.

Saint was sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on November 7.
