Men receive cautions for assault after nightclub CCTV appeal

Posted on 19th November 2014

Two men who were involved in an assault at a city centre nightclub have received police cautions.

The assault, which happened in the early hours of October 5, left a 19-year-old man with a broken nose and foot. A second man was also punched but not seriously injured.

CCTV footage of the incident, at Lola Lo nightclub, was uploaded to YouTube as part of an appeal to identify the offenders.

It was watched and shared more than 13,000 times, and resulted in a number of viewers calling 101 with information.

An 18-year-old man from Borrowash and a 22-year-old man from Weston-on-Trent handed themselves in to police on Sunday, November 16.

They admitted their involvement in the offence and were both issued cautions for common assault.

Derbyshire police would like to thank those viewers who called 101 with information, or anyone who shared the CCTV appeal on social media.
