A man and a teenager have been sentenced for conspiracy to burgle homes in Derbyshire and steal cars.

The offenders were arrested in connection with burglaries in Yew Tree Road, Hatton, and Kyle Road, Hilton, both of which took place in June.

A Land Rover Discovery was stolen from one of the addresses, while a Volkswagen Golf was taken from the second. Both properties also had various items stolen from inside.

Christopher Hall and a 17-year-old youth who cannot be named were arrested and charged with one count of conspiracy to commit burglary and one count of conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle.

They both admitted the charges.

Hall, 22, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Derby Crown Court to four years in prison.

The 17-year-old youth, from Newark, was given an 18 month detention and training order.
