Police release CCTV of Derby shop robbery

Posted on 24th November 2014

Police in Derby are appealing for help to trace three men who stole money from a shop in Derby at the weekend.

At 6.45pm on Saturday November 22 three men went into the Good Cheers convenience store on Arthur St, Derby.  They threatened and assaulted the shopkeeper until he handed over money from the till.

All the men were white.  Two, including the man with the gun, were wearing identical black hooded coats and grey Adidas tracksuit bottoms.  The third was wearing similar but not identical clothing.  All three had their faces covered.

The suspects walked from the Edward Street area before they went into the shop on Arthur Street and left in the same direction.

Extra police patrols were set up at the weekend to provide reassurance and officers have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area today.

Detective Sergeant Steve Fuller said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area either before or after the robbery.  We’re also interested in speaking to anyone who might have sold the coats and tracksuit bottoms the men were wearing.  It may be that they were obtained recently and, as we believe the suspects live locally, they were probably purchased in Derby.

Anyone with information should contact Derby CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
