Man tries to rob post office in Chaddesden

Police in Derby are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery in Chaddesden.

Officers were called to the area at 5.40pm today (Thursday November 27) after a man went into Cherry Tree Hill post office on Nottingham Road in Chaddesden and demanded money.

He left the premises empty-handed and went across the road into the Albert Road estate.

He’s described as white, about six feet tall and was wearing a blue/grey jacket with the hood up.  He had his face covered by a scarf.

No-one was injured and no weapon was seen.
