Man arrested on suspicion of robbery after pregnant woman has bag stolen

A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbing a pregnant woman while she was standing at a bus stop.

The 32-year-old victim, who is 32 weeks pregnant, was standing at a bus stop in Derby Road, Chellaston, when she was approached from behind.

She had her bag, containing cash, bank cards, a tablet computer and mobile phone, snatched from her arm and fell to the floor during the incident, which happened at about 8.30pm on Wednesday.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of robbery this morning. He remains in police custody.
