Police appeal after woman is assaulted in service station robbery

Posted on 6th October 2014

Police in Buxton are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at a service station.

On Sunday, October 5 at 10.45pm a man entered a service station on Leek Road and punched the female shop assistant in the face. He asked for cash and forced her into the room at the back of the store. He then made off with an amount of cash from the till.

The man was described as black, of a large build and was wearing a green/grey hooded top with the hood worn up and black trousers.

Police would like to speak to two men and a woman, possible father and son, who came in the store afterwards and helped the woman. The woman and one of the men were in their late teens and the woman was wearing a football shirt which had red and white vertical stripes. They all left the service station in a dark coloured hatchback car.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Buxton CID using the non-emergency 101 number.

To report crime anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
