Posted on 22nd October 2014

Two masked men were believed to have left empty-handed after an armed robbery at a store in Long Eaton.

The robbers, who were armed with crowbars, forced their way into the warehouse of Tesco Express, in Cranfleet Way, shortly after 6am on Tuesday, October 21.

They threatened a member of staff and told him to open a safe and tills in the store.

But the robbers were thought to have fled empty-handed after a scuffle, which left the member of staff with non-life threatening head injuries.

He was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, to be treated.

One of the offenders was of slight build, about 5ft 9ins, while the second was about 6ft tall.

Both of the robbers were dressed in dark clothing and wore dark balaclavas over their faces.

Detectives investigating the offence want to hear from witnesses or anyone who might know the people responsible.
