Man dies after collision in Derby

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision in Derby.

At about 6pm on Tuesday October 28 a pedal cycle and an Audi A3 collided on the junction of Abbey Street and Mercian Way in the city. 

The 18-year-old male cyclist sustained serious injuries and died in hospital this morning (Wednesday October 29). 

The driver of the Audi failed to stop at the scene and was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.  He was questioned and released on bail.

Several witnesses have already come forward but anyone else who has information should contact the Derbyshire Constabulary on 101 and quote incident 622 28/10/14.
