Five people charged in connection with Glossop assaults

Five people have been charged in connection with an assault on two men in Glossop town centre on Saturday August 30.

Anthony O’Neill (18) of Salisbury Street, Hadfield has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.  He is due to appear at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court today (Monday September 1, 2014).

Alan O’Neill (48) of Salisbury Street, Hadfield has been charged with assisting an offender and has been bailed to appear at court in Buxton on Monday September 15, 2014.

Carmel O’Neill (40) of Hadfield Road, Hadfield has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and assisting an offender.  She has been bailed to appear at court in Buxton on Monday September 15, 2014.

Aaron Daniels (41) of Cottage Lane, Gamesley, Glossop has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.  He has been bailed to appear at court in Buxton on Monday September 15, 2014.

A 17-year-old youth from Hadfield has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.  He has been bailed to appear at court in Buxton on Monday September 15, 2014.

The incident happened at about 8pm on the junction of Henry Street and Norfolk Street when several people were allegedly involved in a disturbance.  A 29-year-old local man sustained serious injuries and is being treated in Salford Royal Hospital. A 49-year-old man suffered minor injuries.
