Man fails in his attempt to rob Holme Hall post office

Posted on 4th September 2014

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery at Holme Hall post office.

Just before 9am yesterday (Wednesday September 3) a man went into the post office on Wardgate Way in Chesterfield, armed with a knife and demanded money.

When staff refused his demand he ran off past Lloyds Pharmacy, the family centre and church and down a footpath in the direction of the school.  He’s then believed to have gone onto Loundsley Green Road.

The suspect is described as being white, of chunky build, wearing a red top and dark bottoms.

Anyone who was in the area and saw a person fitting the description or who has information about the incident should ring 101 and ask for DC Russ Garner or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
