Masked men steal cash from Mackworth betting shop

Police are appealing for witnesses after two masked men made off with cash after a robbery at a bookmakers in Mackworth.

The offenders walked into the Ladbrokes shop in Humbleton Drive at about 7.20pm on Wednesday, September 3.

They demanded cash and took a handbag belonging to a staff member before fleeing.

A third offender was waiting outside the store in a blue car, believed to be a Renault Clio, and the robbers drove off at speed along Brackensdale Avenue towards Derby city centre.

No one in the store was hurt during the incident.

Officers investigating the robbery are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen a car matching that description in the area around the time of the offence.
