Four people arrested in connection with an assault in Derby

Four people are in custody at St Mary's Wharf police station today (Sunday September 7) being questioned about an assault in Derby.

Just after 9pm last night (Saturday September 6 2014) police attended an address on Gerard Street in Derby. A number of people had allegedly forced their way into the premises and assaulted the occupants.

Officers have been told that some type of firearm was discharged both inside and outside the property. Police are working to confirm this.

Two occupants of the house sustained minor injuries, but not as a result of being shot.

The arrested suspects are aged between 26 and 32 and all live in Derby.

Extensive police enquiries are continuing in the area.
