Woman arrested in connection with the Glossop assault released on police bail

The 23-year-old woman arrested in connection with the assault on John Wrigley in Glossop has been released on police bail.

She was detained yesterday (Tuesday September 9) on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and assisting an offender.

Mr Wrigley remains in a serious condition in hospital. He was assaulted at about 8pm on Saturday August 30 at the junction of Henry Street and Norfolk Street in Glossop.

Five people have been charged in connection with the assault and are due to appear at court on Monday September 15, 2014.
