Man charged with murder and attempted murder after two men were found seriously injured in Ilkeston

A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder and attempted murder following an incident in Ilkeston.
Two men were found with serious injuries at a property in Charlotte Street at about 5.40am on Thursday, September 11.
One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene. He was earlier named by police as Paul Averill, aged 30.
The second man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. 
Santino Giovanni Genovese, of Charlotte Street, Ilkeston, was arrested at the scene. He has now been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. 
The 23-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Saturday, September 13.
