Police are appealing for witnesses after walkers found clothing that had been left next to a pond near Chatsworth House.

A pair of light beige jeans, a white t-shirt with a ‘Shanghai Masters Tennis’ logo, a black slim fit hoodie and a pair of black trainers were found by walkers.

The clothing was found near a pond at Calton Lees, in Beeley, near Chatsworth, along with a note that was partially written in Mandarin, and other miscellaneous items.

Police and mountain rescue volunteers searched the surrounding area and the water but the owner of the clothing has not been found.

Officers are now urging anyone with information on who the clothes might belong to to call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting incident 467 of September 26.

The clothes were found at about 4pm on Friday, September 26 but could have been there for some time.
