Girl assaulted in Oakwood

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a 14-year-old girl in the Oakwood/Spondon area.

Between 8.50pm – 9.10pm on Saturday September 27 the girl was walking home on the path that leads from the pedestrian crossing on Acorn Way, Oakwood to West Road, Spondon.

As she neared the end of the path, she was attacked and assaulted. She received minor injuries.

The attacker is described as a white man, aged 35-37, with a stocky/chubby build and about 5ft 8 inches tall. He had dark coloured stubble on his face covering his cheeks and chin.

He was wearing a black hoody with the hood up over his head and spoke with what appeared to be a local accent.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the offence, or anyone with information about the incident, to call them on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
