Appeal after early morning burglary in Ilkeston

A burglar stole a handbag from a house in Ilkeston after breaking in in the early hours of the morning.

The offender forced his way into a house in Park Road and stole a handbag containing cash and bank cards.

Items from the bag were found discarded on Heathfield Avenue, near the cemetery gates in Cantalupe Road, and on Flamstead Road.

Detectives investigating the offence, which happened at about 6.20am on Thursday, April 2, want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity on those roads.

The offender was of slim build, about 5ft 6ins, and was wearing a black hoodie and grey trousers.

He was seen running away from the Park Road area, and towards Heathfield Avenue.
