Witness appeal after city centre assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 51-year-old man was attacked in Derby city centre.

The man was walking through the Market Place close to the waterfall when he was approached by two men.

After a brief conversation, the victim was punched to the face and fell to the floor, where he was then kicked.

One of the attackers was white, aged in his late 30s, with dark hair and ‘scruffy’ facial hair.

The second man was white but the victim could not provide any further description. A woman in her late 20s and with ginger hair was also present.

The assault happened at about 4pm on Saturday, March 14.
