Appeal for witnesses after a man was seen trying to break into a house in Matlock

Police appeal for witnesses after an attempt was made to break into a house in Matlock.

On Tuesday, March 31 at 8.10am the owner of a house on Daysmill Close saw a man standing in her back garden. When the man saw her looking through the window he ran off.

An attempt had been made to enter the property via a rear door and a rear window.

The man was described as 5ft 10ins tall and of a stocky build. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top with the hood worn up.
