Badger sett disturbed in Chapel-en-le-Frith

Police are appealing for information after a badger sett in a field in Chapel-en-le-Frith was damaged.

Wooden fence posts were used to block one of the entrances to the sett, which is on land close to The Wash.

It is a criminal offence to disturb or damage a badger sett under the Protection of Badgers Act 1992.

Derbyshire police’s specialist wildlife officers are appealing for anyone who might have seen suspicious activity or vehicles in the area.

The damage was discovered on Sunday, April 5.
