Posted on 20th August 2015

The A617 between Chesterfield town centre and the M1 has now been reopened following a collision between two cars this afternoon.

The collision involved a Citroen C1 and an Audi A7 and was only minor, but the driver of the Citroen has potentially suffered neck and back injuries.

Firefighters are currently removing the roof from the vehicle and to ensure the safety of emergency services and other road users, the A617 was closed.

The collision happened at about 3.20pm today and the road was closed shortly before 4pm.

Drivers are being urged to plan alternative routes.
