Twelve-year-old boy has his bike stolen

Officers are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Alvaston.

At about 11.40am on Friday December 11 a 12-year-old local boy was approached on the canal path off Avonmouth Drive and pulled from his bike. The offender then rode away on the red BMX bike he had stolen.

The robber is described as being of mixed race and in his early twenties. He was about five feet seven inches tall, of thin build and with dark hair. He was wearing a red Adidas padded jacket and grey tracksuit bottoms. He had a tattoo on one hand between his thumb and forefinger.
