Banning order for football fan who ran onto pitch after Rams and Forest clash

Posted on 3rd February 2015

A football supporter who ran onto the iPro Stadium pitch after the Derby County and Nottingham Forest clash has been given a football banning order.

Joshua Gregory was arrested after running onto the pitch and approaching a number of Forest players directly after the match on January 17.

The 23-year-old, of York Road, Chaddesden, was later charged with a section 4 public order offence, as well as pitch encroachment under the Football Offences Act.

He pleaded guilty to both charges at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court this afternoon. He was given a community order and told to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

Derbyshire police also applied for a football banning order, which was granted by magistrates.

The order means Gregory is barred from attending any Derby County match for the next three years. He is also banned from any England national match and must surrender his passport when the senior team plays internationally.
