Taxi driver assaulted in Derby

Police appeal for witnesses after a taxi driver was assaulted in Derby.

On Sunday, February 1 at 4.50am a taxi driver collected three men from Wild Street. During the journey the man that was sat in the front seat punched the driver.

The driver stopped the car on Great Northern Road and got out. The man then jumped in the driver’s seat and damaged the interior of the taxi.

The men then ran off. One of the men was described as black and the other two were Asian.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Laura McCormack at St Marys Wharf police station using the non-emergency 101 number.
