Detectives appeal for witnesses following a stabbing

Detectives are appealing for information after a man was attacked in a Derby street.

The 19-year-old was walking along Northumberland Street when a car pulled up nearby. A man got out, walked over to him and stabbed him once in the hand and arm before driving off.

The victim went to the Royal Derby Hospital for treatment. He has told officers the attack was unprovoked.

He has described his attacker as black, around 6ft tall and stocky. He is aged about 20 and had a beard. He wore a black hooded jacket with the hood up and black jogging bottoms.

The incident happened at around 11.30am on Thursday, February 5.
