Man missing from Sudbury prison hands himself in

A man who failed to return to Sudbury open prison in Derbyshire more than a year ago is back in custody.

Michael Ossai (45) handed himself in to Greater Manchester Police at a police station in Bury last night (Monday February 16) and is being questioned today.

He failed to return to the prison following release on temporary leave on January 4, 2014.

He had been sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on April 29, 2005 to 16 years and six months for conspiracy to commit robbery, assault and driving offences.
