Witnesses to an incident of racism urged to come forward

Witnesses to an alleged racist incident in Derby are being urged to contact police.

Officers were called to Friar Gate at around 6.15pm on Wednesday, February 18 following reports that a man was shouting racist comments in the street.

A 45-year-old Derby man was arrested, questioned and released on bail while inquiries continue.

The street was busy at the time and officers believe there are witnesses who have not yet come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
