Appeal following alleged assault and criminal damage in South Normanton

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault and incident of criminal damage in South Normanton.

At around 6pm on Thursday, January 29, a 21-year-old man was parked near McDonalds, in Berristow Lane, when a black Vauxhall Corsa pulled up alongside him.

It is alleged that the driver of the Corsa got out and smashed the victim’s front windows before assaulting him and driving off.

The victim suffered facial injuries.

A 24-year-old South Normanton man has been arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.

He has been questioned and released on bail while the inquiry continues.
