CCTV image released in connection with shoplifting assault in Derby

Sainsburys-Farm-Street-CCTV-stillPolice have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace in connection with shoplifting and assault on a store manager.

On Sunday, February 22 at around 9.20pm, a man entered the Sainsbury’s Store on Farm Street in Derby and attempted to fill a bag with meat items and leave without making payment.

As he left the store a security guard attempted to detain the man and in the process the duty manager was assaulted.

The suspect made off towards the Abbey Street area.

He is described as white and wearing a distinctive baseball cap, creamy white with a black strip that runs along the side and around the back to the other side. He was wearing a grey coat with black lining, blue jeans and black boots.  He carried a yellow, Morrison’s bag for life and a black laptop bag over his back.

A CCTV image taken from the store has now been released in connection with the incident.
