Appeal issued after woman has her bag stolen in Derby

A woman who was walking through a Derby park on New Year’s Eve was robbed by a man on a bike.

At 3.45pm on Wednesday, December 31, a 40-year-old woman was walking through Arboretum Park in Derby when she heard the noise of a pedal cycle behind her.  As the cyclist rode past her he grabbed her shoulder bag causing minor injuries to her arm and wrist.

She thinks the robber was white and was wearing a dark, hooded, padded jacket and dark jeans.  He rode a mountain bike.

Her bag was found the next day in a car parking area on Arboretum Street but cash was missing.
