Man arrested on suspicion of assault in Derby

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after an assault in Derby in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The man, who is 24-years-old and from Leicester was arrested in Leicester yesterday evening and will be questioned by police in Derby today (Friday January 2).

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the alleged assault that happened at 1.45am on Thursday January 1 at McTurks Kebabs on the Morledge in Derby.

The victim, a 29-year-old man from the Derby area, is being treated in the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for a serious head injury and is described as being in a critical but stable condition.
