Police appeal for witnesses after two women were assaulted in an Alfreton car park.

On Sunday, November 30 between 6.30pm and 6.45pm two women and a man were in a car in the car park to the rear of Wilkos when they were approached by a girl and a youth.

An altercation took place and the woman got out of the car and was assaulted by the girl. She was punched repeatedly and stabbed with something similar to a pen. The man and the woman in the car got out to assist and the woman was also assaulted. The car was also damaged during the incident.

The victims drove off and called for an ambulance. They attended Royal Derby Hospital with cuts and bruises.

A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl have been arrested and have been released on police bail pending further investigations.
