Man contacts police with information after appeal on collision in Brailsford

A driver has contacted police in connection with a collision in Brailsford that left a pedestrian in hospital with serious injuries.

The collision happened on a stretch of the A52 in Brailsford, near Ashbourne, at about 4.25pm on Friday, January 2.

A 71-year-old woman suffered head and leg injuries and remains at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where she is recovering. The dog she was walking was killed in the collision.

Derbyshire police issued an appeal for witnesses and information on the vehicle involved, which did not stop at the scene.

Police have received numerous calls from the public and a man who believes he may have been involved in the incident has come forward.
