Police are appealing for information after a man had his jewellery stolen in a remote beauty spot.

On Sunday, January 4 at 4pm a man had been walking on Ashover Rock near to Fabrick Wood in Alton. As he returned to his car that was parked in a layby on Alton Lane he was approached by two men, one of which threatened him and demanded that he handed over his jewellery.

The man handed over his 9 carat gold, 21inch neck chain and a matching bracelet. The men made off in a white, Peugeot van.

One of the men was described as black, 6ft tall, of a large build, in his 30s with short afro hair which was shaved at the side. He spoke with a Sheffield accent.

The second man was white, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 9ins tall, between 25-30 years old, and was wearing dark coloured jeans, shoes and hooded top.
