Burglars steal alcohol from Ashbourne pub

A large amount of alcohol was stolen by burglars who broke into a pub near Ashbourne.

The offenders broke into a storeroom at the Saracen’s Head pub, in Church Lane, Shirley, between 1am and 5.30am on Sunday, January 11.

They stole a large quantity of bottles from inside, including a bottle of Bollinger Champagne, several bottles of wine and Prosecco, and energy drinks.

Police investigating the offence want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area around the time. Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who might have been offered alcohol for sale recently.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 1659/15.
