Specialist car tools stolen after break-in at South Derbyshire garage

Posted on 19th January 2015

A number of unusual mechanical tools were stolen by thieves who broke into a garage in South Derbyshire.

The offenders broke into an industrial unit at a site near Church Street, Coton in the Elms, and stole a Snap-On Modis Ultra diagnostic device.

The burglars then targeted vehicles parked at a neighbouring unit and stole radios, mechanical tools and a Ferrari SD2 diagnostic device.

Those devices are used by mechanics to quickly find faults on car engines.

Police investigating the offence want to hear from anyone who has been offered the specialist items for sale, or might have information on their whereabouts.

Anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 54829/14.

The offence took place between 5pm on Tuesday, December 23 and 9.30am the next day.
