Posted on 19th January 2015

Police would like to trace two people who potentially witnessed a van hitting a horse and its rider in Langley Mill.

On Friday, January 16 at 10.30am a woman was riding a horse along Aldecar Lane when a van tried to squeeze past. The van made contact with the horse and as a result it threw the rider to the ground causing her injuries.

Officers investigating are keen to trace a man that was walking along the street pushing a pushchair and a man who was driving a Volvo V70 who stopped to speak to the rider.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Sean Davis at Ripley police station using the non-emergency 101 number.

To report crime anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
