Police seek witnesses following two robberies in Derby.

On Sunday, January 11 at 10am a man was riding his bike along the new bridge on London Road when he was approached by two youths on bikes.

The youths threatened the man and demanded that he hand over his bike. The man rode off on his bike towards the train station.

As he rode off he shouted to other bike riders on London Road for help. Police are keen for these people to contact them.

The youths were described as white, between 17-21 years-old. One of the youths was of a skinny build and was wearing a blue hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and was riding a purple mountain bike.

The second youth was of a large build and was riding a bright green BMX bike.

The second incident occurred on Wednesday, January 7 at 2.30pm a 16-year-old youth was waiting at the bus stop at the junction of Osmaston Road and Litchurch Lane when he was approached by two youths on bikes.

They asked him for money and when he didn’t have any they punched him in the head and stomach.

A man on a bike stopped to ask if he was ok. The man was described as wearing a red coat and a bandana with a picture of a skull on it.

Police would like to speak to the man that offered help.

Two 15-year-old youths have been arrested on suspicion of assault with intent to rob personal property.
