Police appeal after city centre street assault leaves man with broken jaw

Posted on 26th January 2015

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men suffered facial injuries after being assaulted outside a city centre nightclub.

The two victims, aged 25 and 29, were assaulted by a man close to the Blue Note in Sadler Gate, Derby.

One of the men suffered a broken jaw that required surgery, while the second needed stitches to a wound above his ear.

The offender was wearing a light coloured t-shirt and was with a woman at the time of the attacks.

Police investigating the two incidents want to hear from any witnesses who were in the area around the time of the offences, which happened at about 4am on Saturday, January 10.

It is thought that the offender might have punched a third man and officers want to speak to that potential victim.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 1401/15. You can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
