Witness appeal to alleged assault outside Derby pub

Police are appealing for witnesses to an alleged assault outside a pub in Derby.

A woman who had been drinking at the Chestnut Tree, in Portland Street, was allegedly assaulted as she waited for a taxi outside.

The incident happened at about 1.20am on Sunday, January 25.

Officers believe that a number of pub customers were outside the pub at the time of the incident and want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the alleged assault.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 3449/15. You can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

A 54-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
